“Charming secret garden”

My husband and I visited today for the first time and we will definitely return. The food id nice and very reasonably priced. We both ordered a ham baguette and it arrived as a huge warm baguette the length of the plate with chips, side salad and a very good home made apple relish.

Although lunch was nice the real charm of this place is its location.

The café is set in a fabulously well established and charmingly slightly unruly garden next to the river. Access is down little twisty paths with the odd branch or two to lift out of the way to get to the tables. It very much has the feel of sitting in a much loved secret garden with lots to see and full of butterflies and pretty ornaments.

The lunch which included a cup of mint tea only came to £5.50 which is a bargain for a nice lunch in such gorgeous surroundings. I love unusual places and I cant think of anywhere nicer on a sunny day.

We will certainly be returning.
